This major cultivates nurse-midwives suitable for the development of national and Shanghai regional health care system. Undergraduate midwifery education and training focuses on maternal and infant health. After receiving the professional training of nursing and midwifery, certified nurse-midwives mastered the basic theoretical knowledge, skills and the ability to provide life-course care(especially during the peri-partum) for women. Through undergraduate study, students also have primary capacities of teaching, management, scientific research and health education & health promotion.

* Students need complete four-year Bachelor's degree program which was 

   approved by the Ministry of Education.

* Graduates have chance to work in Maternity and Obstetrics hospital, 

   Comprehensive hospital, Maternal-Child health care institutions, 

   Community hospital,other related places and so on or get further education 

   opportunities.

* Take the nurse qualification exam before graduation, and only those who pass 

   the examination will be eligible for employment.
